President returns to island after three-day official visit in UAE

President Anura Kumara Disanayake returned to the country today (13) morning after participating in the World Governments Summit 2025 held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
At the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Anura Kumara Disanayake joined a three-day visit to the UAE.

During the visit, President Anura Kumara Disanayake held bilateral discussions with President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE, which facilitated the enhancement of cooperation in several fields between the two countries.

To attract investment to Sri Lanka, President Anura Kumara Disanayake held discussions with several executives from leading global companies in sectors such as information technology (IT), artificial intelligence (AI), energy, tourism, finance, and media.

During the three-day visit, an agreement was also signed between the Ministry of Finance of the UAE and Sri Lanka regarding investment protection and promotion.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, also accompanied the President during this visit.
