Inaugural Session of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya Student Parliament Held at the Old Parliament Chambers of the Presidential Secretariat

The inaugural session of the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Colombo Student Parliament took place at the Old Parliament Chambers of the Presidential Secretariat, today (28) in conjunction with a series of programs for school children implemented by the Presidential Secretariat, Ministry of Education, and the Department of Communication of the Sri Lanka Parliament.

During this event, students of the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya were given an opportunity to understand the conceptual value and practical significance of the “Clean Sri Lanka” program. Additionally, a minister was appointed for the school’s Student Parliament to oversee the “Clean Sri Lanka” program.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Secretary-General of the Sri Lanka Parliament Kushani Anusha Rohanadeera and Director Legislative Services and Communication M. Jayalath Perera were present at this special event. They also presented certificates to the Student Parliament’s Cabinet Ministers and members.

The principal and members of the academic staff of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya also participated in this occasion.

Mission

The Presidential Media Division is fully responsible for socializing the views, actions, decisions and statements of His Excellency the President through the media. Electronic, print and new media will contribute to this through a credible and engaging approach.
