Marking a new chapter in the government’s communication strategy, Mr. Prasanna Perera has been appointed as the Director General of the President’s Media Division (PMD).
The official letter of appointment was handed over to Mr. Perera today (24) by the Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat.
Bringing a wealth of academic expertise to the role, Mr. Perera holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Peradeniya, along with Postgraduate Diplomas in Communication from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Mass Communication from the University of Kelaniya.
The Presidential Media Division is fully responsible for socializing the views, actions, decisions and statements of His Excellency the President through the media. Electronic, print and new media will contribute to this through a credible and engaging approach.
The media department works as a source of information on the subject of the President’s vision and mission by maintaining good coordination with public and private media organizations and journalists.
