The Heads of Security called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the President’s Office today (18) .
It is customary for the President to meet the Security Chiefs upon assuming office. Accordingly, President Ranil Wickremesinghe, as the Commander-in-Chief, met the Secretary Defense General Kamal Gunaratne (Rtd), Chief of Defense Staff General Shavendra Silva and Commander of the Army Lt. Gen. Vikum Liyanage yesterday.
Following the meeting with the Secretary Defence, Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander, the President also met with Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna.
The President also met with the Director General Department of Civil Security Major General N.R. Lamahewage (Rtd) and the Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake.
In keeping with traditional practices, souvenirs were presented to the President during the meetings.
